A small number of viewers found this disturbing, saying putting a mask on a dog was ‘animal abuse’:

In response to these complaints, animal charity RSPCA told The Mirror it would be looking into the act:
The RSPCA would be very concerned if it became clear she was caused distress at any point. We will be contacting the show to ascertain what methods were used and how they impacted on the dog.
A spokesperson for Britain’s Got Talent told the newspaper that they take the welfare of all of the acts “incredibly seriously”.
“We consult at length with their owners and where necessary take third party advice,” they said. ”Marc has a huge amount of experience having worked with animals since 1980 and with Wendy for the last five years.”

The owner of the 'talking' dog on Britain's Got Talent is facing questions from animal charities
IF YOU WERE watching the new series of Britain’s Got Talent on Saturday, no doubt you were completely taken by Wendy the talking dog.
Parisian Marc Métral completely stole the show with his ventriloquism act, which amazed both the judges and the viewers at home alike.
